Dear Mount Vernon Families and Friends,

I am honored to begin this journey as your Superintendent and excited to serve our community in this important role. With 23 years of experience in education—most of which I’ve spent as an elementary school principal—I am eager to bring my dedication and passion to Mount Vernon. Originally from the Hoosier State, I’ve had the privilege of living in several states growing up, but I’ve called the westside of Evansville home for over 20 years. I am also a proud graduate of Indiana State University.

Mount Vernon is a deeply rooted and vibrant community, rich with pride in our schools and shared accomplishments. I am thrilled to be a part of its bright future and look forward to working together to elevate our students’ educational experiences. One of my key aspirations is to ensure that every child in our community has access to high-quality preschool education. Early intervention is vital, and with the teamwork and support of our community, I believe we can make this vision a reality for our 4-year-olds.

Looking ahead, the State of Indiana recently introduced new diploma options for the class of 2029 and beyond. These changes allow us to offer our high school students multiple pathways aligned with their interests and career goals. At MSDMV, we are committed to fostering innovation and providing opportunities for students to explore and develop their unique talents. Currently, we offer 12 career paths and are actively expanding our offerings, including computer science coursework and enhancing our well-established medical pathway. Our mission is to help every student think outside the box, discover their passions, and build the skills they need for future success.

Strong relationships are the cornerstone of our success, and I look forward to meeting our stakeholders, listening to your aspirations for Mount Vernon, and working collaboratively to ensure our graduates are prepared to excel beyond high school. Your feedback and suggestions are always welcome, and I am excited about what we will accomplish together.
