MSDMV Parent Athletic Advisory Board

Our council serves as a collaborative and solution-oriented voice for families in the MSD of Mt. Vernon in partnership with district leadership to elevate the athletic experience for all students. The committee plans to meet quarterly as they meet pre-season for fall, winter, and spring sports. The last meeting of each year will be at the conclusion of the school year.

Mission Statement

"To champion a connected, inclusive, and forward-thinking athletic community by strengthening communication between families, coaches, and school leadership. The board exists to support a positive, transparent, and equitable K–12 athletic experience that reflects the goals of the LevelUp Athletic Development model—ensuring every student has access, opportunity, and support to grow through sport."

Main Goal

The Parent Advisory Board serves as a collaborative and solution-oriented voice for families in the MSD of Mt. Vernon, working in partnership with athletic leadership to elevate the athletic experience for all students. Rooted in the LevelUp Athletic Development model, the board is committed to supporting a vertically aligned, inclusive K–12 athletic program that fosters access, opportunity, and long-term development. The board exists to:

  • Encourage open, respectful communication among families, coaches, and administration.
  • Support inclusive and equitable opportunities in all MSDMV athletic programs, regardless of sport or grade level.
  • Identify and help eliminate barriers to participation, including financial, transportation, and access-related challenges.
  • Increase awareness of current and upcoming athletic opportunities across all levels.
  • Promote mentorship, community connection, and wellness through athletics.
  • Encourage and identify volunteer youth coaches to strengthen developmental programming at the elementary and junior high levels.
  • Support the development and identification of youth officials to build leadership capacity, reinforce game understanding, and sustain local athletic opportunities.
  • Help foster a culture of service and shared responsibility by involving parents and community members in support roles.
