• The following MVHS Fine Arts Academy students won awards at the Posey County High School Senior Art Show sponsored by The Hoosier Salon in New Harmony. The show is open to the public during normal gallery hours through Dec. 12th and admission is free.

Miles Matter 5K - Date: November 20, 2021 Time: Start Time 10:00 a.m. - all age groups will compete together.  700 Harriett Street - Band Parking Lot     Cost: Entry Fee: $20.00 This includes a T-Shirt!  You will need to have the registration form and payment completed by November 6th in order to guarantee a t-shirt.  Race Theme:  Wear red, white, and blue American-themed clothing to show your support to those who served our country!  The goal of this event is to raise at least $500!  All funds raised will go to Disabled American Veterans Chapter 36 here in MV!  Bib Pick-Up and Day of Registration starts at 8:30 am in the Band Parking Lot.  Weather - this race will take place rain, shine, warm, or snow!  Remember to dress appropriately.  Bathrooms will be available.  Food and Drink - water will be available as well.

Monday, November 15, 2021 - Gray Day     

TO THE STUDENTS:

• Over the weekend, both junior varsity and varsity girls’ basketball teams defeated Bosse. Junior varsity beat Bosse, 27-13. With 10 points and 10 rebounds, Braiden Brown, got her first double-double of the season!  Browning led the team in points followed by Abbey Ries with 5 and Livi Robles with 4. Leading rebounders were Livi Robles 12, Braiden Browning 10, Abbey Ries 9.  Livi Robles had 4 steals and Kyra Rainey had 4 assists. Varsity beat Bosse 38-30.  With 21 points and 12 rebounds, Lera Wilson, got her first double-double of the season!  Wilson led the team in points and rebounds.  Other leading scorers were Mallory Nurrrnbern with 7 and Ari Shepherd with 6.  Leading rebounders were Arlissa Sharber 7 and Ari Shepherd 6.   Wilson led the team with 3 steals and 16 deflections.  Sharber had 3 assists.  Lady Cats take on Memorial Tigers and North Posey Vikings this week!  Go Cats!

TO THE STUDENTS:

• Thursday, November 11th - SAT Prep Schedule - Khan Academy

• The junior class will be electing a new class president.  If any junior in good standing is interested in running, please stop by room A218 to pick up an application.  All applications and digital campaign posters are due to Mrs. Delancy by 3:30pm on Tuesday, November 16th.  Online voting will be held on Wednesday, November 17th.  IF you have any questions, please see Mrs. Delancy in room A218.

• Yearbook is sponsoring a photo contest that will run from October 25-January 7. Students are invited to take school appropriate candid photos of high school students engaging in school activities, sports, clubs, volunteer work or even at their jobs. Cell phone pictures will work. The top 10 photos will be featured in the yearbook with photo credit. 
• Miles Matter 5K      Date: November 20, 2021   Time: Start Time 10:00 a.m. - all age groups will complete together.  700 Harriett Street - Band Parking Lot   Cost: Entry Fee: $20.00   This includes a T-shirt!  You will need to have the registration form and payment comleted by Nov. 6th in order to guarantee a T-Shirt.  Race Theme: Wear red, white, and blue American-themed clothing to show your support to those who served our country!  The goal of this event is to raise at least $500! All funds raised will go to Disabled American Veterans Chapter 36 here in MV!    Bib Pick-Up and Day of Registration starts at 8:30 am in the Band Parking Lot.   Weather- this race will take place rain, shine, warm, or snow! Remember to dress appropriately.   Bathrooms will be available.   Food and Drink- water will be available as well.
• The National Honor Society will be meeting tomorrow Thursday, November 11 at 7:30 am in the PAC.  All members are expected to be in attendance. Please contact Mr. Riedford or Mr. Wheaton before the meeting if you have a conflict and can not attend.   Reminder: Please come to the meeting with $5.
• Art Guild Members - Pay your $10 dues to Mrs. Glaser in F104 this week if you want a club shirt and there will be an Art Camp work day after school Thursday until 5:00 also in Mrs. Glaser's room F104.
