• The Mount Vernon Boys basketball team won a conference game at Tecumseh Tuesday evening 79-53. The Wildcats were led in scoring by Senior Nicot Burnett with 29 points, including 9 three pointers on the evening. Jackson Clowers was in double figures with 14 points, Meyer Robb had 13 points, and Nash Hostetter chipped in 10. The Wildcats improve to 12-11 overall and will finish out the regular season at home on Thursday evening against South Spencer. Thursday will also be Senior Night as we honor 5 senior players and 1 senior manager. Nicot Burnett, Jackson Clowers, Logan Dutkiewicz, Jacob Swartz, and Aaron Weis will play their final regular season game at home and we will honor each of them before we tip off the Varsity game around 7:30pm. We will also be honoring our Senior Manager Ava Watters. Come out and support the Wildcats and these seniors on their last home game of the year.

• Layne Thompson has been nominated for Student of the Week through the Evansville Courier and Press this week. To vote for Laye, go to courierpress.com and search "student of the week." Voting ends at noon on Thursday. Congratulations Layne!

• The girls basketball team will have a meeting in Coach Steinhart's room during reading period, Thursday February 22.

• Seniors, need help with the FAFSA?  Sunday, February 25 at 2:00 at Ivy Tech you can get help filing your FAFSA at College Goal Sunday.  It is helpful for the student and parent to have their FSA ID created at least several days in advance.  Pick up a flier in the cafeteria or the bulletin board across from Counseling which has information about what is helpful to take.  See Mrs. Rose in Counseling with questions.
