TO THE STUDENTS: 

JUNIORS: 

  • Be watching for an email to vote on your 2024 Graduation Announcements. Voting will close at 3pm today.

SENIORS: 

  • Every Senior MUST order a new cap and gown if you are planning on participating in the graduation ceremony.  Place your order online at www.jostens.com or speak to Josten’s Rep today during lunch.
  • Your chromebooks will be collected on Wednesday, May 17th before Senior Recognition Practice.
  • Seniors in Key Club please check your email for a google form titled “Senior Recognition 2023”.  Please fill out the form to be recognized at the May Key Club Meeting.
  1. The Naval Academy is having a meeting at Memorial tonight at 6pm for all students that are interested in joining.
  2. Prom tickets are on sale now through Friday April 21.   They are $30 each.  If you are taking a guest that does not go to MVHS, you must have a guest date form signed before you can purchase your prom tickets.  Tickets will be sold before after school in Mrs. Hobgood and Mrs. Walter's rooms.  The last day to purchase prom tickets is April 21
  3. Auditions for the Mt. Vernon summer musical are Wednesday April 19th and Thursday April 20th 3:30-7:00 pm in the Choir Room. Contact Mr. Baker if you are interested  at bakerdb@mvschool.org
  4. The MVHS Talent Show will be Friday August 28th at 2:00pm.  Contact Mr. Baker no later Friday April 21st to set up an audition.
  5. FCA will be selling smoothies in the concession stand next by the auxiliary gym Thursday morning. (04/11,12)
  6. The state FAFSA deadline is April 15, the end of this week.  Mrs. Rose is here Tuesday and Wednesday this week if you need assistance.  Submit something even if you need to make corrections afterward. (04/11,12)
  7. The NHS will hold its monthly member meeting this Thursday, at 7:30am in the media center.  All current members are expected to attend, any member not able to attend must contact either Mr. Bacon or Mr. Bethel prior to Thursday.``(04/11,12, 13)

CONGRATULATIONS:

  • Varsity Golf beat Evansville Harrison High School 195-225.   The Mt. Vernon Boys Golf Team opened up play on a cool and windy day to defeat Evansville Harrison 195-225.  Mt Vernon was led by Mack Conyers 46, Logan Dutkiewicz 47, Max Hamrick 49,  Brennan Austin and Carlton Redman 53.  Mason Higginson also recorded a 54.

  • Girls Varsity Tennis beat North Posey High School 4-1

  • The Lady 'Cats came up with another conference win on Saturday! Kaylen Salee threw 

MV's FIRST perfect game in the outing! Kaylen (2-4), Bailey Cox (2-4), Alaina Allyn (2-4), 

& Cherish Anderson (3-4) led the team with multiple hits. Bailey, Alaina, & Peyton Rush had 

2 RBIs each! Kaylen had the win in the circle striking out 12 Washington hitters.

  • The boys track team participated in a more individualized meet at Princeton Friday evening. 

Top 3 finishers in their events were:  Caleb Tyus- 3rd in the 100m dash, 3rd in the 200m dash, 

and 1st in long jump also setting a new meet record with a jump of 21' 8.5" Andrew Santoro- 3rd in the 400m dash
