TO THE STUDENTS: 

  • Did you miss out on the senior ceiling tile painting day? If so, seniors can still purchase ceiling tiles for $5. Contact Kaleigh Kelley to get a form filled out and the design approved if you are wanting to take a tile home to paint. 
  • Appeal for Credit forms will be delivered to those students that need them.  The forms have to be completed by the student first and then given to the teacher listed on the form.  The forms have to be turned into Mr. Fischer or Mrs. C Burnett (A105) by Tuesday morning, December 13, 2022.  If you receive an Appeal for Credit form and fail to complete it, you will automatically lose your credit for that class.

The items can be dropped off at Mr. Ungetheim, Mr. Bacon, or Mr. Krizan's room until December 9."

CONGRATULATIONS:

  • The girls team won all but two events tonight. They fought through some recent illnesses and a tough week of training to best North, a team that just edged a victory over the Wildcats at the Mount Vernon Invitational 2 weeks ago. Congratulations:

  • Boys Varsity Wrestling beat Indian Creek High School 41-39. In a very exciting dual, Mount Vernon takes the W against Indian Creek @ the Edgewood Invite. Mason Suits, Grant Lippe, Ethan Yarber, and Hunter Elderkin all provided falls for the wildcats helping them narrowly surpass the Braves.
  • Varsity Wrestling beat Ben Davis High School 34-30. The team was led by Maddox Suits, Malachi Spainhoward, Noah Barritt, Zack Bulkley, Connor Collins, and Bryce Bourne who all captured falls for the Wildcats.

Then come be a part of MV Pep Club-- $10 will get you a T-shirt and free admission to all home sporting events for the entire school year!  ALL students are encouraged to participate and join Pep Club so that we create an ALL IN experience for all of our home games throughout the year.
  • This Thursday morning at 7:15am we will meet to discuss the theme and prepare for the North Posey boys basketball game for Friday evening. Bring your friends and come join us for FREE breakfast! See Coach Lopez with any questions. 
  • Auditions for the Spring musical, Cinderella will be December 6th, 7th, and 8th. Sign up sheet in the choir hallway.  Band and Choir Christmas Concert on December 5th at 6:30pm in the PAC.

Congratulations:

The MVHS boys basketball team tipped off the season with a win at Vincennes Rivet Tuesday night. The Cats raced out to a 36 point lead at halftime and cruised in the 2nd half to a 64-18 victory. Leading the Wildcats in scoring was Jackson Clowers with 26 points. Jack Campbell was also in double figures with 10 points.  

The boys will be back on the floor for their home opener next Friday night for their home opener against rival North Posey. The JV will tip at 6pm and the Varsity will follow around 7:30pm. The theme for the night is "Whiteout" and all fans are encouraged to participate.

CONGRATULATIONS:
The Wildcats opened up their first home game of the season with a win against Evansville Bosse. Arlissa Sharber led the team with twenty points. Mallory Nurrenbern, Hannah McNeece, Ashley Lilleston, Molly Jones, Abbey Ries, and Cora Bell all  contributed to the final score. The Wildcats are back in action this Tuesday against Reitz @ Reitz at 7:00 pm.

  • November 23rd - 25th Thanksgiving Break
  • FFA is hosting a hygiene drive for Isaiah 1:17 where for every two items you bring to the ag room you are entered to win a Casey's gift card. 
  • Students that ride bus 31 should ride bus 17 home today.
  • On November 28, 2022 all student drivers MUST have a parking sticker displayed on their vehicle to park on school property. Parking stickers can be purchased from Mrs. Tucker in the bookstore for $10.00.  Failure to purchase a parking sticker will result in loss of parking privileges on school grounds and disciplinary action.
  • All detention hours must be served by Thursday, Nov. 17th.  Detention hours can be served in the morning outside of Mr. Fischer’s office, or after school in room B116.  Once again, all detention hours must be served by next Thursday, Nov. 17th.
  • Art Guild Members: NO after school work days for Art Camp this week!  Plan to stay after school on Monday 11/14 until 5:00pm and possibly other days if needed.
  • "There will be a donation drive for Evansville's YWCA starting this Tuesday, November 8. The YWCA provides services for domestic and sexual violence and housing for women and girls. Some ideas to donate to the YWCA are body wash/gel, bath towels and washcloths, shower loofah balls, Clorox wipes, fuzzy blankets, new bed pillows, arts and crafts kits for kids, copy paper, deodorant, razors, laundry hampers, fuzzy socks, bandaids, Play-Doh or slime. The items can be dropped off at Mr. Ungetheim, Mr. Bacon, or Mr. Krizan's room until December 9."
  • November 14 and 21 at 3:30 p.m. - Teen Cuisine - Tiffany Haug of Purdue Extension will be at the Alexandrian Public Library to teach teens about nutrition and cooking. For high school students (ages 14-18). Designed to equip teens with necessary life skills and the knowledge to make healthier choices, Teen Cuisine also features exciting hands-on cooking classes and pulse-rising exercise sessions. Registration is open.

CONGRATULATIONS:

  • Congratulations to Frank Wertz on receiving Best of Show for “Social Commentary” at the 13th Annual County wide High School Senior Art Show at the Hoosier Salon in New Harmony.   In addition, Lydia Deckard received 2nd Place for “Woven Road” in the 2-D Division.  In the 3-D Division, Kyla Borrego received 2nd place for “The Fox and the Grapes”, and Ava Schneider received 3rd place for “Silenced”.  Gracie DeFur received an Honorable Mention for her Ceramic “The Fall”.

TO THE STUDENTS:

  • On November 28, 2022 all student drivers MUST have a parking sticker displayed on their vehicle to park on school property.
