2. There will be an informational meeting this Friday, February 17th for the spring Unified Track and Field season in Mr. Ungetheim's room at 7:50 am. Please attend if you would like more information about the upcoming Unified season. Contact Mr. Ungetheim with any questions or concerns.

CONGRATULATIONS:

Fifteen MVHS students competed at the 2nd Annual Scholastic Contest at Oakland City University.    Our Squad tested their skills against students from the Indiana, Kentucky, and Illinois Tri State Area.  MVHS defeated 12 schools to finish the day as Team Champion.

CONGRATULATIONS:

• Jaycee Jarvis received a gold medal for her Group one vocal solo at the Solo and Ensemble contest in Evansville this past weekend.  She will be advancing to State on Feb. 18th.  Congratulations, Jaycee!

• Students who ended up in the top 5 of their competitive program won scholarship money and their chance to compete at the SkillsUSA Indiana State Championships.  Congratulations to Ben Powell for his 4th place win in Carpentry.  Ben won a $500 Vincennes Scholarship.

• The Mount Vernon Men's Wrestling team Advances 2 individuals through to Semi-State next weekend 2/11/23 @ The Evansville Ford Center.    Jayden Stillwagoner & Mason Suits 

• The MV Wildcats had a record breaking day in the pool today! The swimmers won 5 of 12 events, sending 2 relays and 2 individuals on to the State Championships next week in Indianapolis.

The 200 Freestyle Relay team of Jaley Hamilton, Kaleigh Kelley, Krissy Bazan, and Sophie Kloppenburg broke not only a school record, but a 10 year old Sectional record.

Kaleigh Kelley’s 50 Freestyle and 100 Breastroke times and the 200 Freestyle Relay performances qualify as All-American consideration times.

CONGRATULATIONS:

• The wildcat men's wrestling team had an incredible weekend as they competed in their sectional tournament at Evansville Central. The Wildcats will advance 7 to the Regional tournament @ Castle High School (2/4/23). The Wildcats hope to take this momentum into the next week of competition where they will be fighting for the chance to punch their ticket to Semi-State @ the Ford Center (2/11/23). The 7 Regional Qualifiers are listed below:

CONGRATULATIONS:

The Mt. Vernon Wildcats boys basketball team tipped off action at the Carmi-White County Tournament Tuesday night against Day School and won their 2nd game in a row 79-69. Mt. Vernon was led in scoring by Jackson Clowers with 25 points and 8 rebounds. Junior Nicot Burnett had 17 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Sophomore Jack Campbell contributed with 14 points including four 3 pointers. Brady Schickel and Nash Clowers were both in double figures as well with 11 and 10 points respectively.  Mt. Vernon will return to action at the CWCIT on Thursday night when they play the host Bulldogs. Tip is scheduled for 7pm.
