STUDENTS: Any student who has accumulated 7 or more absences in a class must appeal for credit in that class. Those students who need to appeal for credit will be notified today. Forms to appeal are available in the guidance office. Forms must be completed by the student and then turned in to the teacher of the class in which they are appealing for credit.

SENIORS: Signed permission slips for Thursday are due to the main office by 3:00 p.m. tomorrow.

Mrs. Lueder and her students will again be passing out t-shirts tomorrow and Friday. These are a free gift from the office to say thank you. We have had a rough year with the pandemic and everyone has been awesome and persevered throughout everything. If you did not answer the email about your size, stop by on Friday and we should have
extras.

Students: All books and material are to be returned to the Media Center before the end of the week.

Any boys or girls interested in running cross country next year should attend a meeting in Mrs. Wagner's room on Wednesday at 7:30 am. Please see Coach Latshaw or Coach Wagner with questions if you can't attend. 

The Alexandrian Public Library is looking for students interested in volunteering this summer for kid's' programs. Interested students can sign up in Mrs. Steinhart's room, C123, or email her.

The Unified Track and Field team competed this past Tuesday at Boonville High School. Mount Vernon had many victories in individual events and ended up placing third overall in the meet. First place finishers in the events included Haley Rutledge, Kelcey Ricketts,
Will Ayers, Genna Biggerstaff, Renee Bippus, Julia Kingery, Emily Hueftle, Bradien Royal, Lennon Haton, Gabe Owens and Keaton Brickner.

Prom tickets will be on sale  today after school, in Mrs. Hobgood’s and Mrs.  Walter's room (C106 & C104).  Tickets are $10 per person. Prom is tomorrow from 8:00-11:00 p.m. in the high school cafeteria.

Big Wildcat on Campus is coming up on April 28! BWOC will be in the PAC beginning at 6:30 pm, and everyone is welcome to come watch. Any senior boys interested in signing up should see Mrs. Delaney or Mrs. Block ASAP.

Art Guild Members - Your help is needed this week for a huge project! See Mrs. Glaser if you can help before or after school or during your study hall. Also, we will have a FUN art day on Saturday, April 24. Check the club's Google Classroom Page for more information and updates.

The Mount Vernon FFA Banquet is Monday, April 26, at 6:00 pm in the MVHS Cafeteria.

Prom tickets will be on sale  today and tomorrow before and after school, in Mrs. Hobgood’s and Mrs.  Walter's room (C106 & C104).  Tickets are $10 per person. Prom is Saturday, April 24, at 8:00-11:00 p.m. in the high school cafeteria.

The junior class will meet with Studio B Photography tomorrow from 10:50 a.m. – 11:20 a.m.  Information regarding senior pictures will be discussed.

The Mount Vernon Police Department will be hosting the Junior Police Academy, June 7 through June 11. If you are interested, please see Lieutenant Gonzalez for an application. You must have a 3.0 GPA and your application must be returned by May 7.

The Mount Vernon Marching Band and Mr. Stone are looking for new members to be a part of the Colorguard! Tryouts are April 26, 27, and 29 from 5:30 - 7:30 in the High School Band Room. If you have more questions, please feel free to ask Mr. Stone. Hope to see you there!

All multi-sport athletes need to complete the Google form sent to your school email to select your t-shirt size for the upcoming shirt order. All athletes who played multiple sports this year are eligible to receive a shirt.

Dance Cat tryouts will be held today in the MVHS main gym from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.

Colorguard is one of the best opportunities to meet new friends and for you to join a State Finalist program. You don't have to have any previous experience to be a part of the Colorguard and you will be taught all of the necessary skills you need to be successful and have a life-changing experience. This is also an exciting year to join the Colorguard because the Marching Band is traveling to Florida during Spring Break of 2022 to perform at Universal
Studios!!! If you want a chance to be a part of this amazing program and would like the opportunity to travel with the Marching Band, tryouts are April 26, 27, and 29 from 5:30 - 7:30 in the High School Band Room. If you have more questions, please feel free to ask Mr. Stone. Hope to see you there!

Road Star Driving will sponsor a face-to-face Driver Education Class at MVHS April 19 – 30. The class will run from 3:15 p.m. – 6:15 p.m., Monday through Friday. Applications and additional information are available in the Counseling Office.
