CONGRATULATIONS:

• Congratulations to Maysa Hartman and Grace Reyes. They received Gold rating at the District ISSMA Solo and Ensemble competition on saturday. They will now advance to the State competition on February 17th in Indy.

• The boys basketball team won on Homecoming night over Pike Central 61-58. The Cats had built a 37-22 lead at half and hung on down the stretch despite hot three point shooting by the Chargers. Nicot Burnett led the way with 24 points and Nash Hostetter had 12 points. Brady Schickel was outstanding defensively and on the glass and finished with 12 points. The Wildcats are now 10-7 on the season and improve to 3-4 in the PAC. Mt. Vernon will be back in action on Thursday evening at Princeton with a 7:30pm start.

• The Winter Formal will be this Saturday, January 13th from 7:00-10:00 pm, and it will be held in our cafeteria. The theme is "An Evening at Mardi Gras."  Tickets are $20 and will be available to purchase during lunch.  If you are bringing a guest that is not an MVHS Student to the Winter Formal you will need to pick up a guest form in the counseling office and get it approved before purchasing tickets.

• Seniors, the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is now open.  Mrs. Rose sent an informational email on Friday.  She is available Tuesdays and Wednesdays if you need assistance or have any questions.

• Preseason track and field practice begins today until 4:15pm. Please change in the locker rooms beside the weightroom and meet in the foyer between the gyms. Bring warm clothes as we will go outside as much as possible. Email Coach Wagner or Coach Snodgrass if you have any questions and please make sure you have a physical on file before attending.

• This Thursday, January 11th, there will be a callout meeting, during reading period, for any boy or girl interested in participating in dodgeball at this year's pep session.
