TO THE STUDENTS:

• Seniors, this Sunday is College Goal Sunday where you can receive assistance completing your FAFSA.  It is 2:00 at Ivy Tech.  Previous emails with additional information have been sent.

• CALLING ALL STUDENTS        Do you like to argue? Are you constantly burdened by being the smartest person in the room? Is the added pressure of always being right getting to you? If you answered yes to any of those questions then I have the perfect solution for you. MVHS is excited to announce theimplementation of a new Debate Team. If you are interested, please join us for a brief meeting this Friday during the reading period in Mr. Bethel’s room (C123).
• Miles Matter 5K    Date: November 20, 2021      Time: Start Time 10:00 a.m. - all age groups will compete together.   700 Harriett Street - Band Parking Lot   Cost: Entry Fee $20.00 - This includes a T-Shirt!! You will need to have the registration form and payment completed by November 6th in order to guarantee a T-Shirt.    Race Theme: Wear red, white, and blue American-themed clothing to show your support to those who served our country!  The goal of this event is to raise at least $500! All funds raised will go to Disabled American Veterans Chapter 36 here in MV!    Bib Pick-Up and Day of Registration starts at 8:30 am in the Band Parking Lot.    Weather- this race will take place rain, shine, warm, or snow! Remember to dress appropriately.   Bathrooms will be available.   Food and Drink- water will be available as well.

• All girls interested in playing basketball this season will start mandatory practice on Monday, October 18th. All athletes need to have a physical on file and all forms completed on final forms to be eligible to participate. Fall sport athletes can communicate with Coach Steinhart to determine a start date that allows you to have a break before transitioning to your winter sport. All athletes should follow the Basketball (Girls V) Practice calendar in Eventlink for the official practice schedule. If you have any questions, please communicate with Coach Steinhart.

• The soccer teams are having a fundraiser. It is a shoe drive. We are asking people to please bring gently used or new shoes for the shoe drive. The shoes are collected by a company that then distributes the shoes all over the world to people in need. The most recent large scale donation made by the company was to Haiti after the massive earthquake in August. Our fundraiser goes until November 20. There is a collection box in the main lobby, but we will also be collecting shoes at the home football games! There are other drop off locations as well at the Public Library, Posey Lanes, and the Co-Op on 4th St.

TO THE STUDENTS:

• Picture retake day is October 14th
• Bus 31 students will be riding Bus 12 today and Monday through Thursday of next week.
• Clubs will begin meeting next week.  If you have not signed up for clubs, please use the link that was in the email you received this morning to do so.  The deadline is Monday at noon.
• Any 9th-11th grader who has not been able to access their Khan Academy account, please come see Mrs. Feagley in A216 either before school or during 3rd, 5th, or 7th period. 
• The soccer teams are having a fundraiser. It is a shoe drive. We are asking people to please bring gently used or new shoes for the shoe drive. The shoes are collected by a company that then distributes the shoes all over the world to people in need. The most recent large scale donation made by the company was to Haiti after the massive earthquake in August. Our fundraiser goes until November 20. There is a collection box in the main lobby, but we will also be collecting shoes at the home football games! There are other drop off locations as well at the Public Library, Posey Lanes, and the Co-Op on 4th St. 
• The Student Council will be taking orders for t-shirts during lunch this week to support Deputy Hicks.  Shirts are $20, orders and money are due Friday, Oct. 1st.   Please make checks payable to MVHS Student Council.   If you would prefer to make a monetary donation, there is a box in the main office.
• Key Club is collecting donations for Camp Atterbury to help them house Afghanistan evacuees.  Donations of NEW UNUSED baby supplies including powdered formula, diapers and wipes can be dropped off in Mr. Ungentheim’s Room C110. Please donate by Friday, October 1, 2021.
